After some advice please. I have non O retirement visa with my husband following on a dependency visa. Made an appointment today to renew extensions (due next month) today at our local Immigration office. I was told that because they were very busy my appointment has been made 1 week before my husbands appointment. I was assured this would cause no problems regarding my husbands extension. Is this correct? In the 20 odd years of having these visas we have always renewed our extensions at the same time.

Basically I do the Visa under my name and my spouse apply for a dependency Visa, do I need to have the bank account only with my name or can it be joint? Thanks🙏

Non-Immigrant O Visa (working foreign spouse) financial requirements?

I am struggling to find official requirements for the “dependency” visa. If anyone can pass on information or a link of where to look it would be really appreciated. Specifically I am trying to find out if there are financial requirements? such as the 400,000 Baht needed for other visas 🤔

Hello expats...

I visited the local immigration in Nakhonratchasima today and ask them about visa for my 2 years old daughter born in Thailand. They said she doesn't need any visa until she reaches to 15 years of age. I asked them again if she travels out of the country and comes back with no visa on passport will the immigration stop her then they reconfirmed and said NO they will not because she is dependent on me and I am working here.

Any expat here has been into this kind of situation?

Thanks in advance

I have this dependency visa as the father of a Thai child. Went to Chonburi immigration and they said it can’t be extended.

I’m going to go changwattana tomorrow.

Previously I’ve been able to extend for 60 days.

Any ideas?

I am living here in Thailand on my third extension of stay based on retirement, good until Feb. 24, 2023, which I purchased one reentry stamp at that time. I came here on an O-A visa. Next year I will apply for an extension of stay based on married to a Thai National (married on Mar. 16, 2022). I understand what I need to do. In the meantime it looks like my parents will need to come and live out the rest of their life with us here in Thailand. This year my mom will turn 87 and my dad will be 92 years old. I will fly back to the states sometime this year, help them settle their affairs and then we will all fly back to Thailand. My wife and I own our 3B/3B home in Mae Rim, and have plenty of room for them. I have been following your posts for sometime and it seems like, but maybe not, as even after all this time it still feels a bit confusing, that the best option is for them to get a 60 tourist visa, a 30 extension of stay, while they apply for an extension of stay based on retirement once they arrive. Or is there a better option?

Hi,

We are a UK couple and looking at living overseas options. My wife is 50 but I am 7 years younger, is it possible that she could get a retirement visa and then I could apply for dependency visa?

We are fortunate enough to have funds required and an external income that will continue in the UK through investments, but are unsure of the protocols

Thanks in advance

I want to apply for a caring child visa, i m not married but I have all the requirements (I event went to the court to obtain the document of parental authority sharing with my ex gf)

Can I go to immigration alone without my ex to apply? Or need she sign some documents too?

Thanks.

Good evening members

I have a retirement visa

But my son is here on a tourist visa .

I’ve heard of a dependency visa for him so he can stay as he came here 19 March and went straight to immigration.

I have been advised there’s nothing can be done without his birth certificate from the Uk

But obviously the British embassy can’t issue

Is there anyway of extending he’s 23

Thanks in advance
