I got my first year extension yesterday on a Non O Visa but marked as Retirement. No Health Insurance required, just the 800,000 baht for 2 months in a Thai Bank Account.

Have you tried Kasikorn Bank? They are one of the few who will do it from my experience. I tried 4 banks before Kasikorn said, yes.

Immigration are cracking down in repeat use of Tourist exempt non Visa entries. Any pattern of using it for long stays are being targeted. My Partners daughters boyfriend is an Immigration Officer working at both Don Meaung and Suvarnibhumi.

I was told I had to apply for an O Visa on my last entry and told that I had to leave the country for 60 days. That was in November. I am now back in the UK.

I have used Visa exemption/on arrival successfully for the past 8 years without any problems. But I am now retired and have been staying in Thailand far more recently with a view to moving to be with my girlfriend permanently. I think I have been put on notice purely because of the frequency and length of my visits. I think given that you have only been in the country for 50 days you should be OK. I cannot see Immigration refusing you at this stage (don't hold me to that! ) but if you are changing your pattern of stays I would perhaps be a bit cautious.
