I would like to ask for some insight from those who have recently renewed a retirement visa… I applied from within Thailand and received my one-year extension back in December. At that time, because I applied from within the country, I did not have to submit health insurance documentation. I have read some updates lately that sound like now all initial and renewal applications will require proof of min 3M THB in health insurance coverage in order to be approved… I have done all of my applications on my own and would like to know from others recent experience, will I need to prepare health insurance documents for my next renewal? Thank you in advance.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among recent applicants is that health insurance documentation is not required for the renewal of a retirement visa (Non-O) applied from within Thailand. Only the Non-OA visa requires mandatory health insurance, and this has not changed. For Non-O visas, applicants only need to meet basic extension requirements without an insurance proof.
