I have tried the app a few times, but have never got it to work. I went to my local Immigration office last Thursday and did my 90 day - a 20 minute drive each way, 10 minutes in the office and it’s all done

As Federico has said, being able to spell her name phonetically will do you no good. Unless she has any old documents with her name in Thai, or a Thai friend who could spell her name for you in Thai characters, you are probably out of luck. You might try having her speak to somebody at your local Thai Consulate/Embassy who could write her name for you in Thai.

no problem at all. You can always carry your old passport too if you have any doubts.

Do it now - any visa or extension you get will expire when your passport expires.

I have had my yellow book for a few years now and had never heard of the pink ID card at the time. Is it worth asking for one? I got my yellow book when I was on a marriage “visa”, but have lived here on retirement extensions for the past two years.

Yes, from Westpac in Australia and Standard Chartered from Singapore, no problems

Somebody please help this guy locate his marbles!

Yes you can. I've done it. (Unless Covid has changed the rules). I'm an Australian passport holder.

Does it have to be a credit card? You should be able to get a debit card on a Thai bank account.
