Hi all. I'm currently here on a married visa and want to apply for my pink card, driving licence and housing book. In what order should I apply for these and at what government office? Thanks for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To successfully apply for your pink card, driving license, and housing book while on a married visa in Thailand, follow this order: First, obtain a residence certificate from your local immigration office. This document is necessary for subsequent applications. Next, go to your local Amphur (City Hall) to apply for the yellow house book and the pink ID card. Note that you'll need certain documents, including a translated and stamped passport, and Thai witnesses. For the driving license, you will need the residence certificate, but be aware that initially, a passport may also be required for certain types of licenses.

The pink Id card quite useless.. so far I only use it in hospital to register..as it's all in Thai words much easier for nurse who doesn't know how to read and write English

@Canice *****
not useless. Can use it for flying internally, hotel check-in (if you insist). Hospital, doctors and in Banks, police stops etc

First you need to get a certificate of residence and to do that you go to your immigration office. With that you can apply for a thai drivers license.

To get a yellow house book and the pink i/d card for foreigners you and your thai wife need to go to the local Amphur (City Hall) and see what's required

You'll need 2 certificates of residence if you intend to get a car and bike license. 200baht each. License department at DLT is closed. Might reopen 1 June.

Plus a medical certificate.

is there any alternative to “certificate of residence” from immigration for the proof of address for Thai Drivers License?
Kool *******
@Vit ********
the only alternatives are a work permit that has your address in it, some don't, or a notarized letter from your embassy stating your address, which is usually the most expensive.

@Tod ********
thanks. Did you need a doctors check for driving licence
Tod *********
@Shaun ******
yep, doc cert, cert of residence, old d/l from your country, and passport
Ben ****
@Tod ********
when you have the yellow house book, you don't need the immigration residence letter anymore
Tod *********
@Ben ********
I was just telling him things to do in order of easiest first, any high functioning retard can get a letter of residence and a thai driver's license

Knock that out of the way and he can screw around with the yellow book and pink i/d card
Ben ****
They won't issue a driver's license on your pink ID card. Must be passport.

You need the housebook before you can apply for the pink ID.
Michael ********
Pink ID card and yellow house book at same time in the same place
Tod *********
@Ben ********
you get the yellow house book and the b/s pink i/d card at the same time at most amphurs, the pink card is 60 baht and good for 10 years (unless you're over 60 when it good for life)

@Tod ********
I have had my yellow book for a few years now and had never heard of the pink ID card at the time. Is it worth asking for one? I got my yellow book when I was on a marriage “visa”, but have lived here on retirement extensions for the past two years.
Michael ********
@Tod ********
my pink card was free (samat sakorn)
Tod *********
@Michael *******
strange, as they're usually 60 baht and they give you a receipt
Ben ****
@Tod ********
you hit the wrong reply button.

right so housing book and driving licence first. Then ID card? Do you know what office?
Ben ****
@Shaun ******
for my yellow book they wanted the 'translation', but they meant transcription of my and my parents name, place and date of birth. I just transcribed them myself. They also asked for marriage certificate, which I don't have.

What did u need to obtain married visa i am married with 2 kids, always came in on 30 day visa as was rotating to/from work in middle east

Came back in Dec and this time on non-imm O multi entry could this be changed to married whjle in thailand
Tod *********
@Steven *******************
you HAVE a marriage visa (you just got it from a consulate before you came here) what you want to do now is apply for a year long extension based on marriage to a thai at the immigration office and to do that you need to show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension

IF you look at your little red entry stamp you will see you were stamped in for 90 days, when does that stamp expire?

The year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa is almost worthless as tits on a tomcat right now because with this covid shit show you can't bounce out and back to get another 90 day stamp AND the longest you can get stamped in is 90 days at a time. That's why I said you need to apply for a year extension (or if your stamp is expiring soon apply for the 60 day visit family extension so you can get the funds into your bank account here and start it seasoning the 2 months)
Steven ********************
@Tod ********
thnx got the 90’days it expires 3 Aug, so have time once out ALQ
****
and money in bank already

What docs would be required for year extension

Got present visa during Covid at oman consulate
Tod *********
@Steven *******************
When you get out of ASQ go to your immigration office with your thai wife and get the hand out listing the requirements to apply for a year extension of stay based on marriage to a thai.

There are more than 70 offices in the country and they all have their own quirks, so there is no "one size fits all" list of stuff you need
