If u r 50 or over consider switching to a straight Non-O retirement. A lot less hassles.

Should depart UK using British Passport. Upon arrival he can use his expired Thai Passport and Thai ID card to enter thailand. Then just renew the Thai passport once inside thailand. Thai Passport renewal is quick. Usually 3 days or less if expedited.

Do NOT enter using British passport. Otherwise he will be subject to the rules of the visa he gets in the British passport.

No problems at all to enter thailand on an expired Thai passport.

Just call the BOI and ask them what documents they r looking for to prove combined revenue for a Private company. They r very good at providing answer to questions like these for the LTR.

Are you also an Investor/shareholder in the Private company? If so then the financial info should be in the annual report to investors. Usually not made public BUT shareholders are entitled to the annual report.

For insurance I used AIA. You can get it thru Bangkok Bank or an agent.

BOI help line. They speak decent English.

With all the new immigration regulations and forms these days I’m surprised they don’t add a swift kick in the arse on the way out too

Instead of using the “Non O-A” Visa you could always switch over to “Non-O” Visa which doesn’t require Health Insurance.

It’s NOT recommended to live in Thailand w out insurance BUT that’s your choice.

@Mark *******
just prior to the end of the first year u can fly out and then back in before the visa expiration date and get stamped back in for one more year. So in theory it is good for 2 years minus a few days if u time your departure and return just before it expires. Then at end of second year you fly back to your country (USA) and apply again for the Non-OA and repeat the process for 2 more years. Repeat as necessary. The Non-OA allows u to keep your funds back in your home country BUT it does require an annual Health Insurance police that is accepted under the Non-OA list of Health Insurance providers.

“Almost constantly” in the hospital???

If he was out of hospital, even a day, why didn’t he go take care of his visa problem when he was out?

What exactly was he in the hospital for?
