Why do immigration officers ignore the DTAC documentation at Thai airports?

Same .had the DTAC printed out ,,she didnt want to see it ,though I had it in front of her stamped in ..checked passport ,,wrong stamp haha ,,back to immigration she said “ you should have shown me the Dtac “haha

I completed the online form a day before.

I went thru Suvarnabhumi yesterday around midnight w my Thai wife thru the Thai citizens line. They were doing the scanning of Thai passports BUT since I was with her and had my USA passport they directed me to an Immigration Officer booth. Nobody in the line but us so we went thru quick. He never asked me if I had done the DTAC. I asked him during the process if I needed to show him on my phone and he said “No, it’s on my screen”. So apparently they see if during the process.

BUT, by chance they don’t have it in the screen u should be prepared to show the screenshot or a printed version.

If u can’t provide then I’ll bet they direct u back over to the TDAC area to produce one before they let u thru.

Wonder what would happen if you didn't do it. They make it a requirement. What immigration do with it is of no consequence

sg also requires travellers to fill up something similar. and they never asked to see it. would you risk not doing it?

The spelling is the same as ur last name ..

I do it for Singapore, Malaysia and maybe other countries, so what's the problem if it speeds up immigration wonderful

I did mine at the kiosk at the airport, the IO did ask to see it, maybe those kiosks don't update their system in real time.

I don't know why everyone is so concerned. It's a simple task and it's recorded on the immigration system. It's no big deal for the average traveller but the Thai government is saying to track undesirables so let's just comply and see what happens. I don't care either way

Exactly my case the other day - tdac is just a bit of keeping you busy for 3 min - that is why i hope teuly and sincerely hope this is one step to a full digital system for foreigners tourist or on visa or retirement or ltr

Imagine, Thai Immigration has something called COMPUTER, and the welcoming officer can see in his system whether you did your job properly or not

I came into suvarnabhumi 5 may didn’t fill out dtac but have retirement extension, no questions, let me through straight away

It's already in the system so I don't understand why they bother giving us a QR code ?

They don't want to see it and you don't have to print it out, as soon as they scan your passport into the system they can see whether you filed or not on their screen.
