Visa exempt was never mentioned. 90 day non o and then extend based on retirement.

It's not a retirement visa and there are "NO" new visa types. Don't spread misinformation.

No it will go through Malaysia, you are applying from Malaysia because the requirements for Non O are to apply outside the country, not country of origin.

You would be better off doing it in Malaysia. I've heard it's a 5-10 day turnaround to obtain a Non O (retirement).

Get your visa before leaving the US. Makes things a lot easier and yes, you may come and go as you please with the correct visa and documentation. Good luck.

I have spoke with many expats in Jomtien regarding Bangkok Bank. And the majority of disgruntled account holders seem to be those that didn't meet up with the new requirements set out by the government. In the recent audits it was discovered that many expats had opened accounts on tourist visas or even visa exempt status, albeit several years ago in many cases but still, unacceptable by today's policy and procedures.

Many of those accounts were then frozen and some eventually closed until the matter was resolved. But it wasn't the Banks fault, they just have to show more accountability now. If you're going to apply for a bank account in Jomtien, doesn't it make sense to use the bank at the top of soi 5 and second road, Bangkok Bank. I'm pretty sure that would be your best bet. Good luck.

If you intend to retire it's best to enter with a Non O 90 day visa already in place and then extend it for 12 months. If you enter on a visa exempt you will need an agent or leave the country and apply for a Non O based on retirement.

DTV visas are dependent upon application outside of Thailand. Meeting up with an agent in Bangkok and working on your visa there is not possible. Malaysia may be your best option for applying outside of Thailand. I've heard there is a quick turnaround in the application process. Good luck. 🙏🇹🇭🙏
