standard Ed visas are not 1 year

They are 90 day visa that are extended at immigration

At any time an I/O can deny the extension

The disconnect is that you pay for a year but in reality it’s only 90 days at a time per extension

it’s basically a 90 day tourist visa that doesn’t rate a bank acct according to Thai banks
