TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the potential restart of Thailand's Test and Go program slated for February 1st, as indicated by a recent article. Community members express skepticism about the reliability of such announcements, share personal experiences with insurance coverage related to COVID-19, and highlight concerns over the government's frequent changes in policy amidst the ongoing pandemic.
This might normally be considered great news, however such progressive changes are invariably followed days later by a piss-your-pants-and-hide-under-the-bed overreaction to the inevitable spike in new cases. I am numb to these announcements. 😷
I know. I’m planning a long visit starting next month, however I’m making flight/hotel/etc arrangements with absolute confidence that I’ll have to change my plans at some stage.
maybe you’ll have to change them 5x which is turning into the new norm

Make sure you have health insurance coverage longer than your stay. ✅ In case you get COVID in Thailand, you will have to stay in hospitel for 10 days even though you have no synthoms. Some insurance companies will not pay for mild synthoms. You have to pay at least 100k to stay in hospitel. No choice for tourists who got infected with COVID. And if you run away from the treatment, read what happened to this guy,
Just as I said back when they suspended the program, they open and close depending on money making holidays. Open for holidays and close after when they’ve made as much money as they could.
