(cont) The next day we showed up at 1:00pm hoping to beat the throngs of people from yesterday. The consulate is closed still and there are no Toilets around. Someone tells us to knock on the door and they will let us use it. We see the security guard inside sleeping in his chair. Felt bad, but nature called. They were very kind once again and let us in and after we used the restroom they said we could stay inside and be first in line!
We get in and go to the counter, give them my wife's name and they give us her passport with the Non-O visa. It takes up a full page and does not resemble the stamp I got in Thailand. Very different. Let me know if anyone wants to see it and I'll post a photo.
Side note: Everyone spoke great english and the food in Penang is amazing. Now we need to figure out how to add her as a dependent for the year extension.
Can I use this to submit a TM30 for myself using my signed 1 year lease? Or does my landlord have to do it every time I come back into town after staying at a hotel.
That's not why people use Facebook groups. We use it for first-hand knowledge and recommendations from actual people. The algorithm of Google puts ads on first and you can also pay to have misinformation show up at the top. Do better...
I printed this from the immigration website, it mentions other local offices. Is rather not do it at the airport because I'm worried it will take a long time. But maybe I'm mistaken?
Thank you for reporting this! We are flying there next week. Did the local Thailand immigration convert it to a retirement extension or are you waiting until the 3 months are up?
