Over 50 USA passport. Trying to obtain a retirement visa in BKK.
I finally jumped through all the hoops and turned in my bank documents and the filled out form for the non-O. My Thai language is non-existent and her English was broken but I'm not sure of the next steps.
I know that I have to come back on May 11th. But I'm not sure which documents I need to bring. Can anyone summarize the process? I paid the 2000 baht and she said all looks good. It looks like my visa is under consideration and I have to return on May 11th for the decision?
I thought she said I need to bring all the same documents again and a TM7. I'm hoping I don't have to get those bank documents again because that took half a day. But I'm at the mercy of immigration so I will gladly comply.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an American over 50, is in the process of obtaining a retirement visa (Non-O) in Bangkok and is looking for clarification on the next steps after submitting their application. They have been informed to return on May 11th for a decision but are unsure about the required documents. Comments from the community suggest that for the May 11th appointment, the user should only bring their passport and the receipt of payment. However, for a future one-year extension, specific documents including updated bank letters will be necessary. The community consensus points towards being prepared with all previous documents, including a TM7, even if not explicitly required at this stage.
