How does the Non-O stamp system work and what documents are needed for the retirement extension?

Hello smart friends, can anyone help explain how the Non-O stamp system works? I got a non-O visa a couple weeks ago. It looks like their stamps on the left and on the right related to it. Two pages?

The next step is to get the retirement extension.. does anyone remember if I just have to get the same set of documents that I did the first time around for the Non-O?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-O stamp consists of a visa page for entry and a stamp indicating the entry date. Since the user acquired the visa within Thailand, it shows 0 entries, as the entry stamp was applied separately. For a retirement extension, apply about 30 days before the visa expires with similar documentation as required for the Non-O visa.

can you advice how to extension non-o visa the case of being a family member of an alien permitted a temporary stay in the Kingdom? My wife and child are coming to Thailand with Non-O visa. Can I extend their visa after 90days stay? I am residing here for Business purposes and I already have one year extension visa

you have to check with your company. They must also agree to allow you to apply for extension based on your work visa/extension.

You got the visa on the left, which entitles you to enter the country. Since you got it inside the country it actually has 0 entries and they immediately stamped your "entry" on the right page.

When you have about 30 days left (end of June or so) and you also have had the required money in your account for 2 full months, you can then go apply for your 1 year extension. The documents will be similar for the most part.

Hey Brandon, thank you so much! My wife is under 50 and is on a tourist visa. I understand we have to leave the country and then she has to apply to be a dependent. I was wondering if that part is complicated enough to hire a visa agent? Or do you think I could handle it myself? I got this far alone thanks to help from people in this group. I don't have a friend or anyone to a translate for me at the immigration offices. It can be hard when people don't speak English and I don't speak Thai. Lol

your wife can get a Non-O visa as a trailing spouse once you are on your 12 month extension but they don't do it inside Thailand for some reason. Your wife needs to find a nearby embassy that will issue it, look at their website to see what documentation they require then go get it. Once the 90 days are about up she can get an extension which will be aligned with yours.

I don't know anything about agents outside of Thailand. You do need to leave after you get the full 1 year extension and then your wife can apply for the 90 day non-O trailing spouse visa. I believe this is usually done in Laos.

Then after she's down to her last month on that you go to your immigration office again to get her full extension which will match the end date of your 1 year extension.

make sure you get a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand or you'll lose your extension as soon as you exit and have to start over. You can just apply and pay for it when you get your full 1 year extension at immigration.
