you simply use an agent. MOTS in pattaya gets it done in one day about 4000 bht

Thailand is a great place but many things in Thailand logically don’t make sense. Just leave it at that.

If you actually read the instructions, it would have been very clear that immediately after you entered with a valid DTV, You need to purchase a pad Thai from a government approved vendor, and get proof of purchase (usually known as a receipt) and this needs to mailed to immigration within 48 hours. Once the prime minister and the King approve it, you need to report to the immigration station to pick up your certificate. The pad Thai purchase process needs to be repeated every 60 DAYS, I repeat 60 DAYS or else you risk up to 3 years in prison.
