Anonymous participant 127 its not better if they want to continue to work. Dtv also does not require your money to be in a Thai bank. Personally I think its far superior.

I did the freelancer route (in Sydney) what area do u work in? I sent a photo of my passport, I included by business registration number, my industry body membership, 3 monthly invoices I had showing payments made to me by clients, my drivers license had my home address as did my bank statements. For my portfolio I showed pages from my website and social media

have you tried any of the methods that don't need a bank account. They are not perfect but at least they exist

I am on a DTV - I feel no need for a Thai bank account. It's a tourist visa - not necessarily for someone staying here long term without leaving. I use Wise, Revolut and pay the $8 ATM fee
