Kurt Fzc, certainly not criticizing this group, but there are also a lot of people in the Thai visa advice

group. Maybe someone knows 🤷‍♂ī¸

Maybe it's also wise to already look to the future. If you already have a Thai bank account, start transfering (as international transfer) a bit more than 40,000ā¸ŋ (if legaly maried for Thailand) every month. Cannot look into y'r pocket ofcourse but hey, you need some Baht in Thailand anyway. If you have done this 12 months, after that, you also can ask for a year extension with no need for the 400,000ā¸ŋ banked money. Then don't forget a re-entry permit if you want to leave and come back to Thailand within tis year extension. Good luck ! 🙏

@Steve ******
. With the 60 day extension, you mean the '60 days visiting family extension' ? This because you can do this only once a year I thought ? Or is it indeed once per entry 🤷‍♂ī¸
Peter ****************
Gregor Huettner Indeed. And I thought it is even not possible to use the 12 months of income when y'r Embassy still hands out affidavits. When you have an affidavit, income has already been proven. Besides the Affidavit or
*******
kā¸ŋ on the bank, many times it's also possible to use a combination of those two. Then together in a year, it has to be the
*******
kā¸ŋ.

And if you really have an Non imm. O-A visa, you get an extra year of stay if you leave Thailand and come back just before the Visa expires ! Still no need for a Thai bank account. Only a health insurance for that year. Watch out, should you want to leave and come back in that extra year, you need a re-entry permit !

Aha. So when you DO have a non imm. O visa, you also can extend 60 days visiting Thai family.
Peter ****************
@Stuart ********
Well, I THINK I read from Tod Daniels that an extension of stay for visiting family is possible on a non imm. O ? 🤷‍♂ī¸ But maybe I'm wrong.

No experience but:

Has your first question to do with y'r second ?

What visa are you on now ?

If you have a tourist visa you can extend for 30 days at y'r imm. office.

If you came in with visa exempt, you also can do an extension at y'r imm. office.

If everything is almost expired, as a canadian passport holder (I guess 🤷‍♂ī¸) you can do a border bounce/hop.

(stamp out of Thailand, stamp in in the country you go to, stamp out there and stamp in in Thailand and get 30 days visa exempt, which you can extend for 30 days at y'r imm. office again. With a border run, you go to the Thai Embassy in another country and you buy a visa over there.

Umm, isn't it possible it's a multi entry TR visa ? I think not but have to ask that question I guess 🤷‍♂ī¸

ONE exception ! That is when you have a Thai Mastercard (Or sometimes I read, with a Thai debit card if it's activated for online shoping. Myself I never got it working with my debit cards). Thai credit/master card works ofcourse because it's international.
