Do I need to maintain health insurance for the full duration of my Non-Immigrant O visa extension upon returning to Thailand?

Hi, I hope this message is accepted as visa related.

I see on the Dutch Thai Embassy website that now, in Covid times, I need the 40k/400k health insurance on a re-permit on a year extension based on a non imm O. Both Retirement, to come back to Thailand.

As you know, this insurance is not required when asking a year extension based on a non imm O visa.

Question is; when coming back, do I need this insurance for the rest of my year extension so until expiring date, or only for a month or so. Or will I only stamped in for the time this insurance is valid.

Thanks !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about health insurance requirements for a Non-Immigrant O visa extension when returning to Thailand during COVID-19, specifically regarding the 40k/400k health insurance needed for re-entry permits. Comments clarify that the health insurance must cover the duration of the entry stamp upon returning, and it relates to the Certificate of Entry rather than the visa type.

There are two health insurances required: The COVID-19 insurance that everyone is required to have, and health insurance. I believe the question is asking about the COVID-19 insurance.

The insurance is part of the Certificate of Entry and has nothing to do with what kind of visa or re-entry permit you use to enter Thailand.

Do you now have a reentry permit in your passport to enter Thailand with?

If you do... What is its expiration date?

It should be the same as your current permission to stay stamp in your passport.

You will need COVID insurance to cover the time you will be stamped into upon arrival in Thailand.

If you have a reentry permit ...that means you need to have the insurance until the expiration date of the reentry permit.

OR

Are you getting a NEW NON O VISA as retiree in your home country before you fly to Thailand?
