Did the officer stamp any warnings or something in your passport? Otherwise the officer could have just been offering helpful “advice” and you may not have problems next time.

You should ask your hotel for a print out of the TM30. Hopefully they will know what you’re talking about and just print it out and hand it to you.

if he is denied due to owing the fine then best to forget about it until the next extension so at least he will have the bonus of not having to bother reporting until then.

airline check in staff often aren’t very well informed so if they ask for an onward ticket, point out your retirement visa

so if someone gets a work permit and one year extension, and then stop showing up to work, the extension isn’t canceled even if the school fires the teacher and cancels the work permit?

also, if he can’t get the paperwork, can’t he just go into immigration one day after his extension expires, pay the 500 baht fine for overstay, the 500 baht fine for not canceling his extension (1 day) and then leave the country?
