Hey All, I just arrived at DMK - I was not asked for proof of vaccination. BUT I almost did not make it on my plane back from Vietnam because Airasia was giving me trouble accepting my photos of my vax cards (I’m double vaxed). A couple that wasn’t vaxed didn’t make it through. Please call your airline ahead of time and check with them. They appear to be much stricter than Thai immigration (at least AirAsia).

Tldr; airlines strict enforcement on double vax, Thai immigration at DMK not strict as of today.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Passengers arriving at DMK airport may not be asked for proof of vaccination by Thai immigration, but requirement enforcement is stricter by airlines such as AirAsia. It's crucial for travelers to check with their airline regarding vaccination documentation to avoid potential issues.

Airlines are responsible for ensuring the rules are followed and get the cost of returning any passengers that don’t meet regulations

What about at land borders ? I’ll be entering via Nan or Chiang Khong later in the month ??

Rules are set by the CAAT, Civil Aviation Authorities Thailand and as far as I know the Royal Thai Police Immigration Office is not an airline company, so it would surprise me if they follow orders from the CAAT. But understand that seing the difference in organisations is a hard job, after all we must blame the Thai Government.

Long time ago, the Thai Government allowed companies to set their own rules about Covid prevention.

The MRT always asked for masks as example, so nothing wrong and nothing to override as an airline company has their own responsibility in providing a safe service and safe travel to their customers.

Just a shame the thai govt didn’t have the balls just apply these rules to the Chinese only as it’s only being implemented because of Chinese borders opening up

The Thai Government announced a meeting for tomorrow, do not shame them for not posting a decision made without discussion in the set meeting.

@Robert ******
my point being if China hadn’t opened nothing would have changed . That’s my point. I wasn’t shaming anyone . Or am i missing something ?

I did read "Just a shame the thai govt didn’t have the balls " but okay, it was not you who wrote that under your name

AGAIN the Thai Government has the meeting tomorrow and did NOT set any rules YET.

@Robert ******
This would explain the no restrictions at land borders

obvious, as you do not need an airplane to walk across a border.

The rule changes clearly state that it is the airlines responsibility to check the Vax status of all inbound to Thailand. They will be vigilant because it's at their cost if your arrive and cannot comply.

and those unable to produce the documents will be tested on arrival. No one to be denied.

there are several reports of denials, including this thread

it seems to be contradicting itself, suggesting if you cannot produce the required paperwork you just need to undertake a covid test on arrival, paragraph 5.

they decided this yesterday, after many complaints worldwide...maybe it did not make it to the airlines yet.

I heard a story of a woman, boarding in Dubai, 2 month after the drop of the Thai pass...Emirates still insisted to see the pass ;)

Quid of the NOTAM that was sent out last night to airlines (Modif in red)

Thank you for that update. (y) So it seems as if it's business as usual once you land here and it's the air carrier that is doing the vetting and checking..

Seems so...they ( Thai government) are asking the airlines to do their dirty work for them..you couldn't make it up...wait..🤔

this is how it works internationally. If the airline flies you and you don't have the needed documents to enter they have to fly you back at their cost not yours or the denying country. Doesn't matter which country you leave from or enter.
