i already got the 30 day extension of stay. It expires tomorrow.
I know how the METV works, it’s just that the timing of a border run tomorrow is inconvenient and I would rather do it next week. So instead of the border run I would ask immigration for another extension, which they would deny and give me another week.
But you’re saying the “extension denied” stamp will be a red flag in my passport? That’s basically what I am asking.
Did the officer stamp any warnings or something in your passport? Otherwise the officer could have just been offering helpful “advice” and you may not have problems next time.
if he is denied due to owing the fine then best to forget about it until the next extension so at least he will have the bonus of not having to bother reporting until then.
so if someone gets a work permit and one year extension, and then stop showing up to work, the extension isn’t canceled even if the school fires the teacher and cancels the work permit?
