Secondary question: Just HOW concerned do I need to be about thieves, corrupt cops, airport scams on farangs, etc.? One blog I found made it sound commonplace and some having disastrous consequences (deportation, Thai prison, etc.). I'm a confident and fairly savvy traveler, but how alert and defensive should I be while there?
