In response to a couple of comments:
-If it’s only for tourists that seems ineffective and arbitrary. If it were for everyone my privacy concerns would be mitigated.
-I’m going primarily to teach English, but the referal agency I got my TEFL certificate through has basically suggested I wait or choose somewhere else. So... feels like maybe I should put a pin in it for 12 months and check back. Lol

Anyone heard about this? If it were really about covid why is it only tourists? I promise I’m not a conspiracy theorist but more concerned about privacy... thoughts?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the implications of Thailand's COVID-19 tracking app for tourists, highlighting concerns related to privacy and the efficacy of targeting only tourists rather than residents. Users express mixed feelings: some see the app as a necessary measure for safety and proper tracking during the pandemic, while others view it as an invasion of privacy and an arbitrary rule. The discussion suggests that expats may need to reconsider their plans to move or teach in Thailand in light of these evolving regulations.
