When you receive a "non-Imm O" visa, is it only valid for entry within a certain amount of time (e.g. 30, 60, or 90 days from date of issue), or does the timing only start once you enter the Kingdom?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The validity period for a Non-Imm O visa is 90 days from the date of issue for single-entry visas. You must enter Thailand within this 90-day period. A multi-entry Non-Imm O visa is valid for entry for one year from the date of issue.

If I'm not mistaken I can request either one but the multi-entry costs about twice as much, right?

Not really worth getting the multi entry Non Imm O at the moment with land borders closed and quarantine, etc.

No, it depends on the embassy. Most embassies won't issue multiple entry Non-Os. If you're retiring you can look at the Non-OA

Single entry Non-O is valid for 90 days when you enter the country.

Once it's issued you have 90 days to enter the country though.

Ok thanks. Just as I thought. So it's not worth applying for too far in advance of travel.
