Andre, you also need to be aware that if you have less than 7 days left until your 90 day report deadline , then you have to submit in person at your local IO.

- yes, us UK nationals based in Thailand can only use VFS and 2 weeks is excellent. Fortunately they also have an office in Chiang Mai , where I live. I know a few people who have obtained new passports via VFS but never waited more than 4 weeks.

- not my experience, as my 90 day report last year was decided because an hotel insisted on using my passport as ID . I live in CM .

CM IO stopped taking on- line bookings for Family Purpose extensions in January/ February and now it seems others are no longer being served for on- line appointments. In May when I went you to the office by the airport I asked why and I was informed that some staff had to be moved to Central Festival as this office was now very busy .

- yes the Family Visa Extension category was axed about 2 months ago by CM IO but not by any other IO's . The 4 categories they still offer online appointments for are very few and are one and half hours long now according to the site that is. Yesterday I was advised by a TV Forum admin to message CM IO , which I did. I can only hope I receive a favourable reply as I never got one to an email I sent a month ago and they never pick up their phones.

You should go back on that date only to get your year extension stamped into your passport. Should only need your passport and perhaps the receipt showing you paid 1900 Baht for the extension. Some people go with their wives , especially if first extension .

- I have a visa extension based on marriage for the last 13 years and usually go to immigration on my own to get the 12 months stamp in my passport. You should have no problems.
