When you extend your visa ( marriage ) is it normally necessary for my wife to do the tm30 again too for the same address ? I presume the tm30 is linked to the expiry date of the visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When extending a marriage visa in Thailand, whether your wife needs to file a TM30 form again depends on the specific immigration office's policies. Some offices may accept older TM30 receipts, while others may require current TM30 documents reflecting the visa's validity dates. It is advisable to check directly with your local immigration office for accurate guidance on their requirements.

Given your wife should be accompanying you I'm sure they'll ask her for one if they want one

I do . I just don’t want to have a situation of an “ expired “ TM30. If that makes sense based on the “check out” date in the system even though we live in our own home .

I don't think that date is material anyway. But requirements will depend on your local immigration office

youre right . At Chaeng Wattana today all they said was they are only interested in the check in date . As you say .. I took that to read just leave the check out date blank

I did my marriage extension in July at CW and submitted a TM30 without a check out date entered and it wasn’t questioned. If your last TM30 shows a check out date which has passed you could always submit a new TM30 notification online to cover all possibilities.

A friend who flys in & out doesn't update his TM30.

For a piece of mind ask immigration.

I believe if you return to the same property where you reside, there's no need to file a new TH30, that's in Chiang Mai.

Other provinces may have different rules.

- not my experience, as my 90 day report last year was decided because an hotel insisted on using my passport as ID . I live in CM .

That’s for sure , in Bangkok they like you to register again and on the system they have “ check in” and “ check out” dates . Chaeng Wattana office told my wife that all they are really interested in is the “ check in “ which they do want if you leave Thailand even if you return to the same house . Thanks for reply though .

That depends on the immigration office. Some accept TM30 receipts from years ago. Some want you to have the TM30 receipt with both check-in/check-out filled "valid" dates. <- means application day is between check-in/check-out dates.

You need to contact your local office about that.
