You just change the reason for your extension. You have to meet all the requirements of the new extension and the new extension starts from the date you apply, not from the end of your current extension when change the reason for the extension. Go ask them for the list of requirements for extension for marriage at that immigration office. If you meet all the requirements you should have no issue. Apply 30 days or less from when current extension expires. Some offices allow you apply 45 days in advance but remember when change you lose days due to new extension starting from the application date.
That was the case for me in Sisaket. Moved from Bangkok and they came to the house and required two Thai witnesses. When they came they said everything looked good and they won't come again unless we move to a new address.
While the online system was down apparently everything for immigration was down. Many people's extensions are not recorded in the system yet so the 90 day reporting system thinks people are on overstay. So those people need to go in person.
Yep. I am in another province now but last year my extension was done in Bangkok and they did not like that in the photo with the house number it was hard to read the number. I had to go to the copy center downstairs and have them print the photo enlarged so the number was easier to read. Good thing I had the photos on my phone.
If you are already on an extension of stay you do not change the visa you change the reason for your extension of stay. Easy to do. All you have to do is meet the requirements for that type of extension and provide all the paperwork requested. If you change extension type (i.e. from reason of work to for reason of married to a Thai or vice versa) the new extension will start from the date of application, not added to your current extension. This only happens when you change type not for future extension if reason remains the same.
Are you on a visa entry or an extension of stay? If on an entry on a visa you are okay. If you are on an extension of stay it was canceled the same day your work permit was canceled and your job ended. Yes, you need to go to immigration and cancel it officially with a letter from your employer or you will have trouble if you come back here and get a new job. Leaving the country is not an issue.
