When you move to a new province and you apply for marriage extension renewal are you back at ground zero in that you need to secure two witnesses to be interviewed at immigration or is that only needed for the initial extension request? I have had two extensions and just moved to a new province.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When moving to a new province in Thailand and applying for a marriage extension renewal, it is necessary to check with the local immigration office as requirements may vary. In some cases, like a user who moved from Bangkok to Sisaket, they were required to provide two Thai witnesses for the extension renewal, while another user advised to consult with the new immigration office for specific requirements related to the marriage extension.

That was the case for me in Sisaket. Moved from Bangkok and they came to the house and required two Thai witnesses. When they came they said everything looked good and they won't come again unless we move to a new address.

When I got my initial marriage extension in Khon Kaen I needed 2 witness that lived in the same Moo. But not for the 2nd extension.

That is between you and the new immigration office you deal with, GO file a TM30 notification of foreigner in residence (and possibly a TM28 change if address if they need it, take your thai wife and ASK them what's required to get a marriage extension at that office.

Keep in mind there are over 70 immigration offices so what they do at one doesn't mean they do it at all of them OR any of them

ok, will do. Already filed the TM30 so when I do the next 90 day I’ll inquire.

some offices don't even do the "two witness" thing and instead just send a couple immigration officers to your house during the 30 day under consideration period (in fact MOST do that and not the "dig up 2 people and bring them to us at our office b/s" :P

No one came to my house. Maybe because I lived 44 km from the immigration office. But witnesses are mandatory, at least in Khon Kaen.
