Have you already had at least one extension of stay? If yes, then all you do is cancel the current extension (they will give you two weeks from cancelation if you request) and then apply for an extension based on work. Always been possible. You are not changing the visa. You are changing reason for extension of stay, which is allowed. If you have not had an extension yet nowadays they make you get the first extension for the same reason you got the visa and after that you can change the reason. Talk to your local immigration office to see what documents they require.

If it is a joint account you need to have double the required money. Safer to open separate accounts. Always can be an office that refuses to accept a joint account. Interpretation of the rules up to each local immigration office.

Biggest vehicle wins. No right of way law is followed.

To stay a year you need to do a one year extension which requires 400K baht in a Thai bank account in your name only. Enter on a single entry visa and apply for one year extension if you qualify and do not want to do border runs.

The idea is that if the country opens up the tourists will leave. If covid is still a problem they will likely extend the extensions another month and so on until the crisis is over. Tourists by definition are not long term stayers (at least they are not supposed to be). People on one year extensions just extend like normal and go when they normally go.

That is very unusual. Usually CW will give out queues until 3:30 p.m. and everyone who gets a queue will be served.

One other thing. Are you on an extension of stay based on employment or stamped in with a visa in your passport? If not an extension of stay and stamped in with a visa that cannot be canceled and you can stay until the date stamped when you entered the country. You need to be more clear whether you have a visa or an extension of stay.
