TransferWise has very reasonable fees and and just about the best exchange rate. Download the App for your phone and check it out. Of course you have to have a bank account in both From & To countries

In short - this second Amnesty gives time to change one's Visa status - but no tools or mechanism available to do it. Thailand Catch 22

Those that likely will hit the hardest are people who hold a Non Imm. B or O Visa Multi-Entry who need a Border Run to gain another 90 day Stay. The Thai Border will likely remain closed. But even if opened a Border Run could be a costly venture fraught with obstacles... $100,00 USD Covid-19 Insurance Coverage, 14 day Quarantine on both sides, Covid-19 Tests.. .

It seems that unless some other relief - these O & B Visa holders will need to qualify for a standard one year Extension of Stay by meeting all requirements financial and otherwise. Plus such an Extension of Stay could have a price tag of 15,000 Baht (not 1900)... I paid 15K Baht last Monday for my one year B Visa Extension of Stay.

If you do not have a, realistic way of qualifying for some kind of Extension of Stay (usually) based on a Visa you have recently had... then make serious plans to leave - unfortunately.

I do believe Thai Immigration wants all foreigners to get the proper Visa or Extension to stay here but are not waiving enough of the required process, procedures or protocols to allow that to happen for many staying here on this now near 60 day Extension of the original Amnesty. Result many will not be able to get a Visa or Extension by the deadline and will have to leave.

Note - at the deadline near the end of September - a person should be able to apply for an Extension based on nothing and get a denial with a 7 day stamp to leave Thailand (for 1900 Baht). But there is no guarantee Thai Imm. will do this

Two Foreigners married to each other and staying in Thailand do not follow the visa / Extension pathway above

Jamie and others - There are TWO type of marriage "Visas"..

First type?. Foreign marries Thai woman. He goes and gets a 90 day Non Imm O Visa intended for marriage. Next He and She take marriage license, photos and lots of documents to Thai Immigration. He applies for an Extension of Stay one year with all the docs and photos Plus proof of 400,000 Baht in the Bank or proof of

40,000 Baht each month for 12 months from abroad. (the sequence of may vary). Key phrase "Extension of Stay).

Other way - Foreign man marries Thai woman. He takes marriage license, letter from wife and copy of her Thai ID card to the Thai Consulate in Savannakhet, Laos or Ho Chi Mihn City Vietnam. He pays 5000 Baht, presents docs, fills out an application for a Non Imm. O Visa One Year Multi-Entry based on marriage. No financial requirements. He must Exit and Reenter Thailand at least once every 90 days to get another 90 day stay in Thailand. Key WORD = VISA
