English tops all languages in the world as the chosen second language. Throughout Thailand information signs of many sorts are in Thai and English.. Same throughout SEA... Second language is English not French, not Spanish, etc. (exception Vietnam French still has a heavy influence)

The language of international aviation is English.

If a Thai person can speak - read or write any non SEA language, it will be English. Expat Farangs adopt English to communicate with other Expats from other countries - especially in a group - regardless of their country of origin.

In 2014 with the Malaysian lost Airliner tragedy the many news conferences were conducted in English even though the greater majority of passengers were Chinese... News correspondents asked questions in English even if they were from France, Spain, Norway, China, etc., etc, etc. The list is very long.

MARIA - Most of people here are not necessarily on some type of visa... During the first "Amnesty" Visas or their "permission to stay expired for the majority of people under the Amnesty.

The above B Visa Holder who is Managing Director of hid/her Thai Registered Company who has been on a Non Imm. B Multi-Entry Visa. If and only If that person has been adhering to all requirements of taxes, Social Fund Taxes, Annual financial statements and a multitude of other required document filings with DBD, Revenue, Social Fund and other departments.
