If I was filing for a soft visa I surely wouldn't do it with a thai language class. Too easy for the immigration officer to start talking to you in Thailand and if he thinks you don't know 5 words a year later, that cancel stamp may come out.

I still don't see how they will keep a 5 year visa going for 2 or 3 doctors appointments. Makes no sense.

As long as you apply outside the country and have material to support your appointment schedule I don't see any reason why they should not count.

Don't know what you are trying to do but a DTV is not a replacement for a work permit. You cannot work a thai based job on DTV.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the soft DTV over time. It makes no sense to me to give someone a 5 year visa for a few medical procedures of for doing some meal thai classes for a few months to a year. I can understand giving the remote worker approval for 5 years and even that I am surprised they don't require milestones to verify you still meet eligibility. Time will tell.
