Question that I haven't seen answered...

After the 5 years, does anyone know if we can reapply for another DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question regarding the possibility of reapplying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand after five years remains unanswered. Various opinions suggest uncertainty, with some comments indicating that regulatory changes may occur, while others stress that concrete information is currently unavailable. The conversation touches on general feelings of skepticism about the future of visa types in Thailand and a hint of humor related to discussions about life and preferences, but ultimately highlights the unpredictability of visa regulations.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the soft DTV over time. It makes no sense to me to give someone a 5 year visa for a few medical procedures of for doing some meal thai classes for a few months to a year. I can understand giving the remote worker approval for 5 years and even that I am surprised they don't require milestones to verify you still meet eligibility. Time will tell.
James *******
Yes you can, no problem.

there's nothing about obtaining a New DTV Visa a second time at the end of the first 5 years of the DTV visa.
James *******
@James *******
so you have to assume no changes then.

@James ******
nobody knows. And that's TRUE about all Thai Visas. Reality speaking, why would you even be concerned about the DTV visa being available in 5 years? There are other Visa options to consider.

Some of us might be pushing up the daisies too! ๐Ÿ˜†

will there be free booze at funeral?
Steve ********
@James ******
Absolutely. The only conditions in my will are:-

(1) Chang Beer will NOT be available

(2) No-one will be permitted to put ice in their beer

๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘
James *******
@Steve *******
Certainly agree about the Chang but confess to having a few ice cubes nowadays to keep the beer cold.

If you're going to dwell that long on drinking a beer, you're not the type of wuss I want at my funeral. Only serious beer drinkers I'm afraid ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘
James *******
@Steve *******
haha I don't dwell I just can't continually down large bottles of Leo.
Steve ********
@James ******
Drink small bottles?
James *******
@Steve *******
they make no financial sense and last about 2 minutes. They need a medium sized bottle.
Steve ********
@James ******
Small bottles are 320ml, large bottles 620ml. So if a small bottle lasts 2 minutes, a large bottle will last 4 minutes. Are you saying a chilled beer will get warm in 4 minutes? ๐Ÿ‘
James *******
@Steve *******
In a glass yes. Also a large bottle lasts longer as you don't continually drink it.

@James ******
I guess so, but I still can't see it. In Australia a "middie" is 285ml, whilst a "schooner" is 425ml. I believe most guys will go for a schooner when out drinking. If I went into an Aussie pub and ordered a schooner and requested ice be put in it, I'd be escorted off the premises! I've lived in Australia, UK and Germany and drank beer in all of those. It was not until I set foot in Thailand that I came across this habit of drinking beer from a glass filled with ice. Goes against every moral standard I have!
James *******
@Steve *******
Ah, I think there is some confusion. I'm talking about one or maximum 2 cubes, not a glass filled with it. When i'm out drinking I go for the large one every time. Can I come to your funeral or not?
Steve ********
@James ******
Absolutely you can come, but there won't be any ice, I warn you now. Most of my drinking buddies are Australian ๐Ÿ˜†
James *******
@Steve *******
okay, can make an exception if it's very cold. Thanks hon..

@James ******
You're welcome petal

No one knows but if I was a betting man it wont be as cheap and easy as it is now.

Time will tell. It's hard to say especially when it comes to Thailand.

The reason it hasnโ€™t been answered is because an answer to that question doesnโ€™t exist. No guarantee DTV still gets issued at all in 5 years ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Nobody has a crystal ball. There has nothing been published anywhere regarding this (as far as I am aware)
