Has the situation changed at all with Bangkok Bank closing down accounts of DTV holders?

My debit card is about to expire, and I’ve been avoiding showing my passport at the bank. Will they likely shut down my account if I go in to renew it? Anyone have experience with this?

My DTV (soft power) was submitted on 22/3/2026 and changed to "Pending Approval" on 24/3/2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam. I hoped that I could get a visa today but the status was still "Pending Approval".

Is it the normal process or what happens ?? The embassy is busy or they accidentally skip my visa file or something??

I am worried. Please advise me. Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know if you can get the METV in country? Like when I arrive there?

I applied for my visa on Jan. 27 in Hanoi. I uploaded an additional document after a request on the 28th. It changed to pending approval the same day. I put my intended date of entry as February 14th (big mistake..). I'm afraid they won't accept/reject me until closer to that date, as the visa is valid from the moment it is issued. It makes sense, I was just being cautious with my date... I didn't know how long it would take, and I definitely didn't know it would impact the speed of processing. I want to get back to Thailand ASAP. I'm really struggling with the pollution, colder weather, and lack of sunlight...

Does anyone have experience with emailing the embassy to check the status or ask for an update? And would you recommend doing this?

My status was Pending Approval for 1 day and now it's back to Pending Document Check. Is this normal by any chance? I already submitted everything they requested. This gives me such anxiety ngl :(

I’m planning to move abroad at the beginning of 2027; however, I see a lot of people on the internet talking about a much stricter DTV visa or even it being cancelled in the future. Do you have any information about this?

I’d like to get some feedback regarding visa-exempt entry to Thailand, as I know immigration has become stricter recently and decisions can be at the discretion of the officer.

I’m planning to enter Thailand on January 14, 2026, by air, coming directly from my home country.

Here is my previous entry history (all by air):

- Nov 15, 2024 → Jan 13, 2025 (visa exempt)

- Apr 29, 2025 → Jun 27, 2025 (visa exempt)

- Sep 24, 2025 → Dec 22, 2025 (visa exempt + 30-day extension)

Additional info:

- I have never overstayed

- I have never done any border runs

- I always enter Thailand by air, not by land

Given this history, do you think entering again on a visa-exempt in January 2026 should be okay, or could this raise concerns with immigration?

Anyone have any recent news from the London embassy?

I applied on the 1st December and have not received any update regarding my DTV application. The status is still showing as pending document approval.

I have emailed the embassy, called the embassy over multiple days. No response.

Any help is appreciated.

Applied for a dtv soft power on the 11th December and used a reputable agent as well. No additional docs requested and showing as pending approval status.

Agent keeps telling me to be calm and patient, which I know they are rights however the anxiety is getting worse each day.

I just wanted to see if anyone else is in a simile position right now, specifically in Cambodia?
