To change from Non- O 3 mths to 1 yr, you can only apply 45 days before the current visa expiry dates. You cannot apply before that. After submitting an application, it will take 30 days to get result. They will stamp on your passport that your visa is "under consideration". Once you get that stamp, apply a re entry permit (either single/multiple) while you're at the imm office if you need to leave Thailand during consideration period. They will give you an appointment for hearing date. Make sure you and your wife go to immigration office on that day otherwise you have to restart the whole process over again.

I've just been to Changwattana immigration to get my husband a Non- O marriage visa. Here's the list of document required.

A month ago, I met a swiss lady at the immigrating office who lost her TM6 departure card. Long story cuts short, the immigration officer told her to go to the police station to report lost document. Then, she has to bring a copy of a police report to the immigration office (either down town/international airport) to get an " Immigration records" paper (this shows records of arr-dep dates, vassels, flt # and TM6 numbers). This immigration records document will replace the lost TM6 departure card when applying for a visa. I hope this helps.

@Robert ******
?? I thought that, too. But the company HR told me otherwise. I'll contact the Ministry of labour to clarify this tomorrow.

My husband is in the same situation. He entered Thailand on the Non O visa (married to a Thai). Now he is offerred a job but HR officer told him that to get a work permit, he must have a Non B visa first. Hence, he needs to go to the nearest Thai embassy and submit paper work for Non B. My question is

1. Which Thai embassy is the most convenient to get this done?

2. Can he apply a Non B online and just book a flight to pick up the visa? Or he has to submit the application in person and wait until his visa is approved?

3. How long does it normally take for the Thai embassy to issue a visa?

Do you have a 90 days report form I can download? I looked for it on the government website and couldn't find it. Thanks in advance.

It depends on where you get a visa. If you get your Non O from overseas, your Non O visa will include a multiple entries permit. However, if you obtain a Non O visa in Thailand, you must apply for a multiple entries permit after you get the visa and before leaving Thailand. If you don't have a multiple entries permit, your visa will be set back as a single entry and you have to start the process all over again to get a visa when you come back to Thailand.

The Thai written on visa read :

- If (the visa holder) wants to change the type of visa, (the immigration officer) please consider telling her to get a new visa from her country of origin.

- suspected (she) has been staying from April through June 2018

- Please check the means/income for supporting (herself) while entering the country

-(Have a tendency to change visa to become an English teacher)

Looks like you have to go home to get a Non B visa to re enter Thailand. After you come back with a Non B visa, your employer can arrange to get you a work visa and a work permit.
