Entering from Australia will give you 60 days visa exempt each time you enter. If you leave well before the 60 days and are gone for a week you will have no trouble re-entering on another visa exempt. Unless you have spent a lot of time in Thailand already in the past 12 months, don't bother applying for a visa.

Paul Marley if you don't overstay, you will not have any problems entering as often as you want.

Paul Marley in that case, as soon as you're ready m8. You fall in to the category of tourist with short visits. For example, I work 4 weeks out of the country and go to Thailand for 2 weeks on my break. Never a problem. 2 weeks in every six. I have been there 4 months and 2 months this least year also. Enjoy 😁

If you haven't been for 9 months, just go. You'll be fine. I did 2x60 day back to back and left for 6 months. No problems, no delay upon return.

Paul Singlehurst-Ward well done, sir. I commend and envy you. I still have difficulty understanding at times and cannot read or write Thai.

Paul Singlehurst-Ward ok, I respect your view. It can be frustrating not being able to communicate with people and being amongst people that speak your language has it's benefits. I also believe that not at least attempting to learn the language of the country you migrated to, is disrespectful to that country and it's people.

Sylvia Corley I much prefer to immerse myself in their culture and lifestyle, otherwise it would feel like I'm cheap Charlie and only here for cheap living. I am the only Farang in our village.

Today I opened XE Money, requested a transfer from my Australian bank account and within 10 minutes the money was in my wife's Thai account. To be honest, I have never bothered with Wise.

For me, this post highlights the importance of learning thai language and being able to communicate.
