- LOL Again if you would have said that up-front it would have probably changed the answers you got.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying give these wonderful people every chance to give you the BEST advice possible, that way YOU have the best chance of being successful.
You are ahead of the game. That information would have been very helpful to the admins when you 1st posted, I don't think they would have been so pessimistic about your timeline.
But do go to Immigration now, get their hand-out and see what they are willing to tell you in advance.
And again Listen to the guys, they are very smart!
Christine - I have been in and out of the Thai for the last 3 years often. I am now in on a Non-O based on being over 50.
All the Admins on this site have been GREAT, very knowledgeable. I have to say the 2 that are (in my opinion)the best are Tod and Rodger.
From what I read you are currently IN Thai? If so get your "Ducks in a Row" now!
Go to the Immigration Office that you will be working with and get their hand-out Now!
Get your Bank Account Now!
Put the Require money in the Account NOW!
Get your Residence paperwork Now!
I had a difficult Time-Consuming experience getting a Bank Account established. Listen to these Brilliant Admins, follow what they say and Get Everything you can done Now!
Maybe the post you read was concerning O-A??? I'm not a pro but I do read here a lot. Hopefully the pro's will correct me if I miss speak. If I remember correctly for an O-A you have to "Break" it by leaving the country, that wouldn't apply to your case. Sorry if I miss stepped.
Todd fully aware and did not intend to say anything derogatory, just that it needed to be put into this guys equation. Sometimes something as simple as opening an account at home is rather difficult.
Since the Question is about "easier" the process includes banking. From personal experience getting a Bank Account with just a Tourist visa is almost impossible (not quite but almost). Once I got my Non-O based on Retirement it was STILL a difficult process until I stumbled into Krungsri. Several other banks had to many hoops to jump through. So put that into your equation.
