How do I file a TM30 form while staying with my Thai girlfriend without paying rent or having a rental contract?

Good early morning. Sitting in the ASQ Hotel when I realized my previous trips to Thailand have always been in a Hotel or Condo.

I am USA Passport holder with a Non-O for retirement visa.

This trip I'm going to be staying with my Thai Girlfriend in Bangkoknoi. I'm not going to be directly paying rent nor am I on a Rental Contract.

How is the TM30 going to work? I've read several blogs before coming to you, none gave a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A USA passport holder with a Non-O retirement visa is inquiring about the TM30 filing process while staying with their Thai girlfriend in Bangkok. They are not on a rental contract and are seeking clarity on how to handle the TM30 report. Community responses suggest that the individual can self-file the TM30 without landlord documentation in Bangkok, detailing how to fill out the form correctly. Some options include the individual filing the TM30 themselves, having their girlfriend handle it, or convincing the landlord to assist.

All Thanks for beating this up for me and giving me a couple different options.

For now I think I'll try Benjamin's way, Plan A. Why? Because I can sign everything myself, it doesn't interrupt anyone's time but mine.

If it doesn't work I will try Plan B and have Saya (my girlfriend) complete the paperwork and get the POA.

If that doesn't work I will move to Plan C and try to convince the landlord it's in his interest to complete it.

Again Thanks ALL. dz

I was in the same situation as you. I downloaded the forms and gave them to my girlfriend who completed them and then I took them myself to the MTT. It was no problem other than I got dinged with 800 THB late fee. It's a nuisance though and my GF would have had to take a day off work, so that's why I went on my own. And as it turned out I wasn't asked for TM30 on either of my renewals.

About all you can do is once you get outta ASQ take your g/f, along with her lease, head on out to the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office and ask at Counter B how you get a TM30 filed.

This is where you wanna go

no, not from the landlord. She may need her own documents such as copies of her ID.

You would file the TM30 at Counter B, which is at Muang Thong Thani immigration office.

If Bangkok Noi is in Bangkok Proper (which I think it is), you should self file the TM30.

REPOST: Self File TM-30 BANGKOK ONLY.

This is the way you need to fill out the TM30 form if you are filing with NO documentation from your land lord

Your name goes at the top of the form, your address goes under it, then your address AGAIN as the address where the foreigner lives.

In the blank area at the bottom left hand side of the piece that they will tear off and give back to you write your address again.

On the second page (the table) put all your information.

You sign BOTH forms on the signature lines. Print the forms correctly. the first page is portrait orientation and second page is landscape orientation :O

Make copies of;

-lease

-data page of your passport

-visa (if you have one)

-extension (if you have one)

-entry stamp

-TM6 departure card

sign the copies of your passport stuff.

This is a way to file a TM30 in BANGKOK without any information from your land lord at all. <- (meaning you don't need their i/d, their house book listing, a power of attorney form with the 10 baht in tax stamps).

AFAIK: this ONLY works in Bangkok but I can say with 100% accuracy that it does work (y)

If name on the lease is his gf, she can fill out and sign POA (power of attorney) form. If it's possible they can find and print it before trekking up there, she wouldn't need to go in person.
