What should I consider regarding my Non-O visa and re-entry to Thailand after a vacation as an American citizen?

As I often misunderstand Thai Immigration Rules I wanted to double check with the experts before I leave for vacation this month.

I am an American citizen/passport holder. I have a current Thai Non-O visa and Extension of stay expiring in May 2025.

I will obtain a Re-entry Permit before I leave Thailand.

My 90 day is not due before I leave.

I will return Jan 2025. I don't know of anything else I need to do before Re-entry. I also believe my 90 starts upon arrival in Jan.

Do I have everything correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American citizen with a Non-O visa and an extension of stay, expiring in May 2025, is inquiring about the necessary steps before leaving for a vacation and returning to Thailand. The person confirmed they will obtain a re-entry permit and believes their 90-day reporting begins upon arrival in January 2025. Community responses confirm that everything mentioned is correct and also advise on the importance of filing a TM30 form within 24 hours of returning and reporting to immigration if required.

Because I know in advance that I will be leaving Thailand at least once a year, I will submit the re-entry application (stamp) immediately after my annual extension of stay. The days of exit and re-entry that must be entered in the application are completely non-binding.

Just make sure a TM30 is filed when you return within 24hrs or so

On arrival back in Thailand you may need to report to immigration (within 1-2 days) that you are living back at your on-file address. I believe not all provinces demand this, but mine does (I’m in Korat) so may be best to ask your immigration office before you go.

Correct, and here in CM you can't do your next report online after overseas travel; they've gone back to making you appear in person.
