My retirement O visa expires on April 29, 2024. I will be traveling overseas during March 1st thru end of May of 2024 right in the midst of my original renewal period. Is it possible to renew it earlier than 30 days. What other options do I have. Or I have to start the whole O visa process again on my return. Thanks.

Good morning, I am planning to apply for retirement O visa.I understand the process but would like to know once I apply and get the 3 months extension if I need to stay in the country for those 3 months before applying for the one year extension.

Or if I leave the country would I need to reapply for those 3 months again?

Thanks

Hi.. I’m now holding Retirement OA visa which will expire end of this year.

I intend to apply for Retirement O visa ( no insurance needed) … I will be flying back to HOng Kong and these are the visas available from Thai embassy in hk for application

I hold a Singapore passport.. and a PR of HOng Kong. I obtained my OA visa from HOng Kong.

I have to return to HK in Nov and I’m just simply asking which visa I should get in order to apply for Retirement O visa in thailand… That’s all !

Tourist , Visa Exemption or Special Tourist visa.

can I enter with visa exemption… which visa should I apply so I can apply for retirement O visa in Chiang Mai immigration? Thank you

Why do you decline my post ?! I do not know which visa to apply so that I can apply for Retirement O in thailand .. Visa exemption, Tourist, Special Tourist Visa ?!

Hello, I am planning on flying to Bangkok from the USA in January and I am hoping someone could kindly steer me in the right direction. After being on a 60-day Tourist Visa and then a 30 day extension can I then fly back to the USA for 30-60 day period; and then return to Thailand on a visa exempt status in order to apply for a Retirement O Visa rather than apply for a OA Visa in the USA.? Please note I have to be in the USA in April/May. Thank you for any suggestions.

Extending my annual Retirement O Visa based upon 12 monthly international transfers .

Big Shock: Or how to get caught with my pants down , doing everything right without an income letter from my Embassy.

If you make monthly international transfers to your Thai Bank Account ( My bank is Bangkok Bank), the minimum international transfers must be 65,000 every month for 12 months. So I grudgingly complied.

I discovered a potential problem for the extension to my Retirement O Visa extension today.

To avoid my issue please Update your Account Pass Book regularly. I have been lazy but thought it was time to update my Pass Book .

I was horrified ! Most of my transactions including my international transfers were not show. I panicked and went to get help from my bank manager.

Helpfully he pointed out that after a period of non updates all transactions are consolidated into a single balance.

The solution, he said, is to request a bank statement before going to Immigraiton. However, it takes 2 weeks to get a full 12 month Statement. No delays for the previous 6 months transactions.

So if like me you are a little lax, do not leave it to the last minute to get your printed Statement. No idea why it should take as long as 2 weeks.

So now I’ll probably be given a hard time explaining to the Immigraiton officer why my Account Pass Book appears to have big gaps.

From now on I’ll be updating my Account Pass Book every month and I’ll be getting my Bank Statement 3 weeks early to be on the safe side and I’ll present the bank statement to Immigration in hopes that is an acceptable backup together with my Pass Book with its missing information.

Any further advice?

Hi everyone, concerning my monthly deposit of 65,000 baht to my Thai bank account for my Retirement O Visa.

I have been invited to stay with friends outside Thailand for up to three months. This could mean that I have a gap of up to 3 X 65,000 baht.

Am I obligated to continue the payments in order to qualify for my next Retirement O Visa extension?
