Since the Question is about "easier" the process includes banking. From personal experience getting a Bank Account with just a Tourist visa is almost impossible (not quite but almost). Once I got my Non-O based on Retirement it was STILL a difficult process until I stumbled into Krungsri. Several other banks had to many hoops to jump through. So put that into your equation.

All Thanks for beating this up for me and giving me a couple different options.

For now I think I'll try Benjamin's way, Plan A. Why? Because I can sign everything myself, it doesn't interrupt anyone's time but mine.

If it doesn't work I will try Plan B and have Saya (my girlfriend) complete the paperwork and get the POA.

If that doesn't work I will move to Plan C and try to convince the landlord it's in his interest to complete it.

Again Thanks ALL. dz

-- FYI, I did go out to the airport. I did tell the officer that I wanted to buy a Re-entry Permit. He informed me that at that location this can be done ONLY on the day you fly out. They Will NOT allow you entry into the secure area without a Boarding Pass.

From My readings, if I leave wothout getting 1 and they Do Open the Borders back up then my Non O based on Retirement is Null In Void.

If I get 1 before I leave then my visa is still Valid.

So I can spend 1,000tbh as insurance, so to speak, or Start everything from scratch.

I think it's worth it to buy 1.
