yes they are. They used to put up with people who would come visa exempt and then get an extension and then leave the country then repeat the cycle over and over again. They are not happy with that.

it will not I spent 24 years in Singapore and respect law and hard working people who own shops. Never in decades had a minor infraction. It’s shame that people like you are willing to steal from hard working people
