Can you recommend any agent in Bangkok that would handle opening Bank Account on DTV visa? I got one offer, but 15k THB is insanely high. DTV = you have money = rip off?

Hi there. I'm just trying to understand the bank account situation before applying for the DTV.

Its my understanding that I need to have THB 500,000 siting untouched in a Thai bank account for period of time before I can apply for the DTV.

My question is; how can you establish a Thai bank account if you don't already live in Thailand? Also, its my understanding that you can't obtain a permanent residential address (to open a bank account) unless you have some form of visa already allowing you to live Thailand.

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I came to Thailand this time to open bank account on which I will be able to transfer money to have retirement visa in Thailand. I came with 60 days travel visa. On third day after my arrival I came to government office to get my resident certificate. April has lot of government holidays. My resident certificate came after 4 weeks, on April 28. I came to Bangkok Bank to open account with all needed documents on first working day in May.

it was Tuesday May 2. At the bank I been told that from May 1 they have new regulation - I have to have not less than 30 day to end of my visa ( no extension) and I have to have sticker from Thai Consulate in my country on my Visa. Before I left my country I been told to apply for electronic visa, and this what I did. I have my visa till May 19 and going home without having open bank account. The all banking regulation and government regulation are against each other. How i have to prepare myself to open bank account next time I came to Thailand? Please advice me.- Thank you. I’m in Chiang Mai.

Hello everyone..I read different opinions about opening a bank account in Thailand..Im going there on TR visa (60) days and I’m hoping to apply for Non O visa at 50 years old next year(Not sure if I’m applying for Non O -A visa in my country yet) Kasikorn,Bangkok Bank and Siam Commercial Bank all can take transfers over 50,000 baht through ~Transfers Wise~

If I can get one open now it will be easier to have my 800,000 baht come time..Any suggestions? 🙏🏼 Ps.. All have a Thai address I can use…

I have a question for Americans who got their NON O visa in the U.S. How did you open a Thai bank account in the U.S. to meet that requirement? Are there Thai banks that can do that in the U.S.?
