ORIGINAL POSTER
I need to get a certificate of residency at immigration (Bangkok). Renew DL. My situation is a bit unique. I never do the 90 days report because I always exit the country before 90 days. What documents does immigration require for the certificate of residency? I searched the group posts and saw conflicting information about the requirement of previous 90day report done.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a certificate of residency in Bangkok, the required documents generally include: a passport and a copy of its photo page, a copy of the last entry stamp, a signed rental agreement (proof of residency), the TM30 form, and typically two color passport photos. Notably, if you haven't stayed in Thailand for 90 days, you do not need to present evidence of a 90-day report; this requirement has been relaxed by immigration. It is advisable to keep all documents organized, and you may need to pay a fee of around 300 THB for the certificate. It's also suggested to inquire directly with immigration for the most accurate and updated requirements.

I did it not long ago been here almost a year and have not yet done a 90 day been out of the country right before my report days. But when you come back to the country redo your tm30. Now again. I did not do that because i was akways going back to same condo. Thankfully in both instances immigration gave me no issues at all when i went For certificate of residency. So what you will need is passport, photo copies of demographic page, visa page , last stamp entering page, and copy of current tm 30. You'll need copies of every page lease agreement and copy of owners blue book. Sign all pages of copies Or if an owner your ownership paperwork, again sign all copies you'll need at least one photo you'll go through the q in main entry bring all your paperwork you did and you'll show them. You tell them that you are applying for certification of residency. They'll give you the form to fill out in blue i repeat blue πŸ’™ ink. Sign your name in blue also. And they'll tell you if anything additional. You fill out form. Go back in line. They'll review you again then you go across hall and they'll take all your stuff. If you go early you'll get it back same day. 300 baht. Don't by 2. Make a copy for car and use original for motorbike. Or whatever your primary vehicle is. Immigration will make you think you need both. A copy suffices at DL office. If you want to get 2 its 600 baht and you have to duplicate all the paperwork. I may not be 100% accurate. Retired and enjoying Thailand. I had a friend help me out first time. It was all easy enough. Also health certificate at JMC clinic on second rd is 150 baht. Again. Only buy one and make a copy for duplicate license.

Edit The health certificate is for Dl not residency sorry if confusion

Simply ask immigration. They will tell you exactly what is required. Instead of us who will give you 7000 different answers πŸ™‚ some of them incorrect.

Just having Form TM30, you can apply for residency.

However, if your 90-day reporting period has passed, you must report first and then apply for a residency certificate.

Or, you can consult with me. We can request the documents for you tomorrow.

Passport, Visa Certificate, Proof of Residency (Signed rental contract), 2 colour passport photos for each certificate (if you are needing both car and motorbike licences, you need a certificate of residence for each at 500THB each)

Short term stayers will not receive a Thai-licence, you then need an IDP linked to your host country licence in English

TM30 always works for me and a couple of photos

I went to immigration agency and got 1 on a tourist visa to renew my licence

Passport photo page copy, copy of page with last entry stamp, tenancy agreement, TM30. Oh, and some cash! I got one only yesterday for exactly the same reason. Take original passport and work permit with you as well. CoR needs to be dated less than 30 days ago when you submit for new DL

Bangkok immigration dropped the requirement to have filed a 90 day report some time ago

@Abu *******
They still require you to DO 90 day reports, they just don't require you have done one in order to get a residence certificate any longer.

Definitely don't need a 90 day report if you haven't stayed 90 days or longer. I think you just need a tm30 along with passport.
Wannikea *********
You just need to ensure that a TM30 has been filed within the jurisdiction of the office you will be using

I did it the other week. Immigration wanted, passport, my yellow book, The TM30, they took my passport so I dont know if they checked my 90 day.

@Colin *********
Yellow book can be a lease or affidavit of residence if you live with your girlfriend.

Pretty easy. Just bring enough copies and I always bring a pouch of all my docs in case they ask for something weird which they haven’t

@David *********
not sure, mine took 15 mins

Which makes me wonder - if you have a yellow housebook, you won't need a certificate of residence from Immigration, because the yellow housbook is actually the equivalent replacement for the certificate of residence. My Immigration won't issue a COR for me, because they know I have the yellow housebook

@Greg **********
my DLT would not accept the yellow book. But it could be a local thing (Prachinburi)

the same happened to me on the DLT, too. Fortunately, my girlfriend was present with her blue housebook and her ID card. She confirmed that I still lived on her premises as noted in the yellow housebook. After this, DLT accepted my yellow book
