Ok. My first Thai license took me around 2 hours to get. Took fiancée along, did a few tests, showed UK license and I.D.P. Like I said, easy! I've had bike and car licences in the UK for over 30 years, still valid today but also have a Thai one now!

I left my UK passport in the hotel and only realised at Phuket check in. They allowed me to use my Thai driving licence as proof! Good luck.

We went to our local amphur and got a list of requirements. Made an appointment at the UK embassy in Bangkok to prove I was ok to marry, and get relevant paperwork. We then visited an additional office in Bangkok but they couldn't complete the registration. Thankfully there is a department in Ubon that can now certify marriages so we didn't have to go back to Bangkok again. I'm on a Non O visa, so not the marriage visa, but I think the process would be the same, just different paperwork requirements! Can't remember the cost but nowhere near your quote, including flights, hotel etc! Good luck.

Supermarkets in the UK sell smaller loaves of bread labelled 'lower fat' and charge, per slice, more for it than an ordinary sized loaf. Turns out it's lower fat because you aren't buying as many slices as a normal loaf. Nothing at all to do with being made in a healthier fashion, just semantics and an eye for profit. Not just a Thai problem unfortunately!

Mate, I'm sorry but if you have to ask Facebook 'lawyers' then stop, NOW! Talk to a proper legal expert or you will get rogered 6 ways from sunday. I'm aghast you would ask this sort of question on here!

I had one rejected and was told if I submit it online within 7 days of expiry date I have to attend immigration in person. I set an alarm 2 weeks before now and no online rejection since!

I keep a cheap UK phone account active (6 pound a month on giff gaff) to do all my UK banking and transfers to Thailand via Wise. When I log in it says something like "this is your registered device so connecting automatically", never asked for authentication code!

No! Visa, marriage, address paperwork, passport, thai speaker and legwork. Do it yourself and save your money!
