Morning all. I have Non O visa, arriving Tuesday 11th, and wondering do I tell immigration that I'm retiring to get "retirement" stamp in passport. I need this to open bank account apparently. Thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster has a Non-O visa and is seeking advice on whether they need to inform immigration of their retirement status to receive a retirement stamp on their passport, which they believe is necessary for opening a bank account. Responses clarify that there is no specific retirement stamp; rather, the immigration officer will provide a 90-day stamp. Users also mention that having money in a Thai bank account is not required to receive the Non-O visa, but it is necessary for a 12-month extension. Suggestions include using a reputable bank like Kasikorn for opening an account and confirming the necessary documentation for an extension.
