not a multi-entry visa. I had a single-entry 60 day tourist e-visa. I just remained calm all the way through the process. I considered it as an adventure.

Ratchaburi immigration recommended avoid Myanmar land border crossings although others have done it recently.

I arrived at Suvarnabhumi on November 1, 2023 on a visa waiver, extended for 30 more days. Flew to Korea for a week, applied for e-visa and received e-visa 2 weeks after arriving back in Thailand. Got a 30 day visa waiver at Suvarnabhumi. Got a 30 day visa extension. Then, land border crossing to Poi Pet and activated my 60 day tourist e-visa and in 2 months I’ll go to immigration to get a 30 day extension, then back to the US for 6 months. All done with no problem, except the e-visa took weeks to be approved.

there was no problem doing a “border run” at Poi Pet on February 12,2023. Advise to dress properly (no tank top or super short shorts. Don’t speak first, let them speak first. I was in Cambodia for 15 minutes. Total time for border crossing was 2 hours. You are allowed 2 land border runs every year. If you need more in a year, you have to fly to another country and return by air. You can do unlimited flights out/in for any given year, but only 2 land border crossings per year.

My Thai wife and I got married in the US and my wife did the Thailand marriage visa for me. We didn’t pay or bribe anyone. It was a bit difficult, but able to get done.

My Thai wife did it all for us/me. Lucky for me my wife is smarter than most people. She and I have never agreed to pay an agent. We never paid to get any paperwork processed faster. We never paid a lawyer. We never paid a bribe for anything. My Thai wife got me the marriage visa and I can assure you it was difficult. The biggest hurdle was my own US embassy. There is a special place in hell for the US embassy people.

I just did that today. It took about 2 hours once I was dropped off at the border.

I kept my US home and I have a Thailand home. I direct deposit to my US bank and after that I can do what I want with it. I can access my money anywhere anytime, but I brought US dollars for my 6 month stay.
