Can I apply for a Non-O marriage visa again after my previous visa was voided, or is a 60-day multiple entry tourist e-visa better for spending 6 months in Thailand?

I had a Non-O marriage visa completed February 2023, but because my Thai wife and I were unaware of the re-entry stamp, I didn’t get the stamp. Upon returning November 1, 2023 I was informed that my visa was cancelled/voided. So that’s a lesson learned. My question is for US citizen spending the winter 6 months in Thailand, I could do the marriage visa again, still have the B400k in the bank…. Or it appears another option is simply a 60 day multiple entry tourist e-visa. Either visa I have to leave by day 90 and can return right away. Seems the only difference is the tourist visa doesn’t require the 400? Am I correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user had their Non-O marriage visa canceled due to a lack of re-entry stamp. They are considering reapplying for the marriage visa or using a 60-day multiple entry tourist e-visa for a 6-month stay in Thailand. A respondent clarified that a marriage visa usually requires an extension after 90 days to stay for longer and suggested that a tourist visa would necessitate leaving every 90 days. The user is seeking to confirm the differences between these visa options.

You can get a Non-O inside Thailand but the METV can only be obtained from your "home" country

A Marriage visa isn't going to get you to 6 months unless you apply for the 1-year extension. You start with the 90 day non-O visa, and then you apply for the 1-year extension when you have about 30 days left on your stamp. You could also apply for the 60 day "visiting Thai family" extension based on your wife, but that would still only be 5 months total.

If you just leave after 90 days and return, you'll be a tourist again with no visa.

If you get a multiple entry tourist visa, you'll have to leave at least every 90 days (60 day stamp + 30 day extension).

He'd get 60 days plus 60 days (visiting family extention) on at least one entry with the METV

yeah it'd be a complete waste of money to get the METV since he can achieve the same thing with a single entry tourist visa and one border bounce. The same thing he'd have to do with METV

True that!
