Go for COVID extension first. If you get it, good, if not then ask for visit family extension. Talk it through with immigration officer first (take your wife) as what you don't want is extension denied with 7 days to leave.
I think, but not sure, that people working illegally in most countries could face deportation. Kind of a standard thing. Do you know of any country that allows foreigners to work freely without a work permit or other mutual agreement between the nation's?
Preach away... I don't mind... there are several ways to stay long term in Thailand. Elite, Business/work, education, over 50, Investment, Marriage, religious studies and theres probably others. Where are you from? Do they not have Immigration Laws? Not a dig, but sometimes worth asking the question.
multiple entry tourist visa. You get 60 days per entry extendable for another 30. You then bounce out of the country for a day then you get another 60 extendable. Now then, here's the problem. Many consulates stopped selling them for obvious reasons. Hopefully, as some sort of normality returns, you may be able to get them again. Other than that, marry a Thai (lady)
So you're probably not going to get another COVID extension. Maybe head to Cambodia and come back with a METV . Borders look like their opening up in the next few months. Might be a good option for you.
