I see. I was inquiring about one extension for work to another one for retirement - thanks for clarifying that. What I really wanted to know was about the 800,000 baht and whether that has to come from abroad or not (as this can be quite difficult for somebody who has been living in Thailand for decades based on extensions).
how would this work for somebody working in Thailand and retiring, ie switching from a non B to a non O extension based on retirement. If this is hijacking, I'll happily start a new threat.
A legitimate question, unfortunately answered with sarcasm... You can use any station, as long as you tell them you lost it in their district, otherwise they'll send you away. So if you misplaced it at home, make you sure you go to the correct police station for your district, not just the nearest one. You might also want to screenshot a TM6 card if you cannot explain well (in Thai) what it is.
These days they're not even allowing 3 weeks early. Two solutions 1) apply for a new visa while you're in the US 2) coming back to renew your extension.
oh that was exactly the reason why this message popped up for me a few months ago. I even posted about this in the group. I had traveled within Thailand several times but never bothered to file a new TM30. Turns out that's what I had to fix before being able to use the system again. At least that's what the officer told me.... π
