I know the admins don't like TM30 questions, so I apologize in advance.

I'd like someone to share their experiences in Chaeng Watthana (Bangkok) before I go there myself. Disclaimer: I'm aware of the app/site but can't use it yet.

My questions: What is Chaeng Wattana like on a Monday morning, when hundreds of foreigners come back from a weekend trip? Are we really all expected to take at least half a day off on Monday to re-register after a weekend away from Bangkok? How long will this take in reality? Not looking for complaints or speculations, just experiences so I can prepare myself as this will have major implications on my work life and planning.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Chaeng Watthana immigration office in Bangkok can be quite busy on a Monday morning, especially following a weekend when many foreigners return to re-register. One user shared their experience of arriving early and still facing long wait times, indicating it could take several hours to complete the registration process. They noted that the queues build up quickly, and despite arriving at 5 AM, they witnessed the chaos unfold as many others came in afterward. Overall, it seems advisable to allocate at least half a day for this process, factoring in potential delays.

Good point. This "self file" TM30 post has at the bottom the address to post TM30 applications

Whether it has a major implication on your life or working plan is beside the point. It's a necessary evil and is gonna take as long as it takes so you're either gonna suck it up and deal with it or you're going to file by mail until you get your online log in approved.

I will give you one example before closing the thread

I was there last thursday at 5 AM outside in line, I was #3 to get IN to the building when they let us in and got queue #2 for section B (the TM30 section). When I was leaving at 8:45 they were passing out queue number FIFTY for that section..

So I'd say, no matter what time you go you're most likely gonna be there for a good while..

Hate to be the bearer of bad news like that but it's a mess out there from the second they open until hours after they close when the serve the last person
